Nordic summer Camp 2025
Join students fighting for a just and sustainable plant-based food system
The food system is broken. Universities have an opportunity to make real change, but students need to lead the way.
That’s why we’re coming together.
Come together with students from all over the Nordic to skill up, connect, and launch the next wave of the Plant-Based Universities movement! Will you be there?

About Nordic Camp 2025
What is Plant-Based Universities?
Plant-Based Universities is an international student movement pushing universities to lead the shift towards a just, sustainable, and plant-based food system.
We’re campaigning for our institutions to cut ties with animal agriculture by transitioning to 100% plant-based catering, to align their actions with their climate and ethical commitments.
In just a few years, we’ve grown from a handful of students to a bold, continent-wide movement with active campaigns in over 60 universities and major wins across the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Germany, and Switzerland.
Why a nordic camp?
The work we’re doing is powerful — but it’s not always easy.
Since 2022, our summer camps have brought students together to train, connect, recharge, and build momentum. These gatherings have transformed students into changemakers - growing skills, confidence, and ambition, and building an international community grounded in shared values. And then? Going back to campuses and turning ideas into action.
Camps have sparked new strategies, deepened connections, and inspired bold change across Europe.
Who are you?
What does the programme look like?
Each day at the camp is designed to energise, inspire and connect.
Mornings begin with optional grounding activities such as yoga, meditation, or light exercise — followed by a shared breakfast and check-in.
During the weekend, we will all participate in workshops on:
- Mobilisation and strategy
- Building strong, effective teams
- The principles and practice of nonviolence
- Crafting narratives and messaging that sticks
- Public speaking and media training
- Negotiation skills
- Leadership
In the early evening, you’ll return to your homegroup for a check-out, reflecting on your experiences and sharing learnings from the day.
Then it’s time for dinner, followed by an evolving line-up of evening activities — from open mics and craft skillshares, to dancing, and stargazing.
There will also be a quiet space with books, games, and creative activities throughout the day for anyone who needs a break or some down time.

Travel
Getting There
Travel to the camp is being organised by groups of students across the Nordics- including from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
Travelling in a group makes it easier, cheaper, and more fun to get to the camp together. Whether you’re driving, cycling, or going via public transport, we can help you connect with others on your journey.
Travel With Others
To get connected with others travelling from your area, sign up now to get connected with your national or regional group.
Travel Subsidies
We know that getting to Uppsala, Sweden, will be a big journey for some people, and we don’t want money to stand in the way of anyone who wants to be at the camp. That’s why there is a shared pot to help cover travel costs for those who need it. If the cost of getting to the camp would make it hard for you to come, there is financial support available.
After you sign up, someone from the team will be in touch to share more info, answer any questions, and chat through if you need travel support. There’s no complicated process - just a couple of calls so we can make sure the funds are shared out fairly to where it’s needed.
If you have questions, or want to chat things through, an organiser will be in touch for a phone call after you sign up, or reach out to us at asta@plantbaseduniversities.org.
