What is the problem?
57% of food emissions come from animal products
Food systems are responsible for around a third of all global greenhouse gas emissions, and animal products are the dominant driver. Meat and dairy alone generate more emissions than all the world's planes, ships, and cars combined. Every meal Bristol serves is a choice between perpetuating this crisis or being part of the solution.
What can we do?
The Plant-Based Transition Happens Here
Every plate is a decision Bristol makes and can change. Bristol's already making progress, but we can go further and faster. It's time for Bristol to become 100% plant-based.
Is that even possible?
University of Graz went fully plant-based. Edinburgh hit 70% — and Bristol already opened a fully plant-based and a vegetarian outlet. Let's be the first in the UK to get to 100%!

University of Bristol opens a 100% plant-based outlet serving £2 hot meals each day. We worked to lobby the university to reopen the £2 outlet, and successfully achieved a commitment for the food served to be 100% plant-based.
Following successful lobbying, we opened the first fully vegetarian and plant-forward outlet at the Clifton Campus!
95% of students at our AMM supported a move to sustainable plant-based catering!
